Collection description
The dissertation explores public administration digitalization practices in the Italian context in the early 2020's from an organizational and sociological point of view. Through the analysis of three multi-sited emipirical cases, different digitalization related practices taking place in Italian public administration are made visibile and discussed in the light of neoinstitutional theory and Actor-Network theory. More precisely, the first empirical case deals with the digitalization of a local public administration (the municipality of Bologna); the second case deals with the efforts brought forward by the national Department for Digital Transformation in order to coordinate and homogenize local digitalization paths fragmentedly taking place throughout italian PA; the third case analyses the active role played by citizens in public administration digitalization by exploring the user-practices related to the the national public digital identity service SPID.
