Abstract

Ischemia with non-obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) represents a heterogeneous clinical entity characterized by angina and objective evidence of myocardial ischemia despite the absence of obstructive epicardial coronary disease. INOCA encompasses both microvascular dysfunction (CMD) and coronary spasm leading to vasospastic angina (VSA), conditions associated with increased morbidity, mortality, and poor quality of life. Although invasive full physiology coronary angiography (FCA) has emerged as the gold standard for endotype classification, the influence of intracoronary nitrate administration on the measurement of invasive functional indices remains underexplored and there are concerns about the timing for its administration. This study aimed to evaluate whether preventive intracoronary administration of NTG significantly affects hemodynamic parameters and the diagnostic accuracy of functional coronary angiography.
