Abstract
This thesis provides an original framework to study the relational dimension of local innovation systems (LIS). More specifically, this work aims to explore which configurations of network structure and network portfolio composition are associated to high performing LISs by conducting a Social Network Analysis of the benchmark case of Greater Boston Biopharma ecosystem and by interviewing key stakeholders in the area.
