Abstract

The personalized approach to the patient could be potentially enhanced by the introduction of new physical and mathematical model such as : internet of things (IoT) and the use of the wearable device as tool to monitor patients; artificial intelligence application (AI) in its connotation of supervised and unsupervised machine learning; virtual study and human model (digital twin) for imaging and therapy approaches; the development and characterization of new materials and their key-roles in theranostic application. This PhD thesis has the aim to show the results related to new mathematical and physical models in radiation oncology to personalize therapeutic approach and evaluate RT-induced effects. Patients’ quality of life investigation represent the main purpose of the novel strategies here proposed.
